Answer: Hi Michael, not familiar with any weed by that name but it sounds like spiny emex, Emex australis, often called 3-corner jack. If in a garden bed you can spot spray with Zero glyphosate, preferably before seed heads form. if in a lawn spray with a boradleaf herbicide such as Zero Bindii and Clover concentrate while the weeds are still young. If old, mayure and seeding then hand removal with a pronged weeding tool might be required. Sorry, I cannot confirm an answer for the question regarding ducks. Best chemical free method is hand removal before seeding occurs.
