What are the spikey yellow brown caterpillars on my lime tree and how do I treat the tree to remove them.

Submitted: 06:24PM, 16 Feb 2010
Answer: Dear Jacinta,

The caterpillar you are noticing is the larvae of the Citrus Butterfly. This caterpillar turns into a magnificient butterfly and unless they are doing a lot of damage we don’t tend to destroy them. If you wish you can pick off the caterpillar. Enjoy watching the butterfly visiting flowers in your garden.
