Eggplants attacked by pests

My eggplants are being attacked by bugs. They bore into the fruit and when cut they are rotten inside. Could you tell me the best way of treating this.
A lot of them are invaded before they get a chance to grow.

Answer: DearStephen,

Caterpillars are a nuisance when growing egglant but they can be controller with regular spraying. Try using Dipel or Success, both natural insecticides which are effective on a wide range of caterpillars. Just make sure you spray on top and underneath the leaf. The insects will stop feeding immediately once the product has been consumed, but can take up to three days to die. You will need to spray every 7 days to keep the pest population under control.

Fruit fly can also attack eggplants. Again regular spraying with either Lebaycid Fruit Fly & Insect Killer or Nature’s Way Fruit Fly Control will give your fruit protection against this nasty pest.
