This is a new plant about 4foot high growing in a pot on front verandah morning sun afternoon shade

Answer: Hi Brian,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

From the photos there it looks very much like the lagerstroemia is under attack from a chewing pest such as a caterpillar, thrip or earwig.

For these pests we recommend that you apply Natures Way Citrus & Ornamental Spray. We also recommend that you give the plant a good feed with Dynamic Lifter Liquid. This will help the tree cope with the added stress and assist with further growth as well.
