Hello everyone I have a block of 2acrhes and it has a lot of weeds. Is there a grass that will take over?

Weeds are blue lupins, walkaway burr and a little bit of double g's i was wondering if there is a grass that would be able to take over the weeds

Answer: Hi Jack,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to your weed problem. The best way to try to control the weeds is by using a non-selective herbicide such as Zero Glyphosate Weedspray. Due to the large area and possible large amount of weed seeds in the seed bank this may take a while to get under control.

Once you have control of the weeds, a grass variety such as Kikuyu will grow well in those conditions, however, you may still get weeds growing in the area, especially if they are blown in from neighbouring fields or carried by birds.

The only other alternative that you may have is once you have controlled the weeds look at using a pasture mix for the area.
