I have hundreds of little black winged insects eating holes in my cauliflower and bean leaves. They are 1-2mm in size. Any suggestions on how to stop them?

Answer: Hi Dan, sounds like bean fly or aphids but these dont eat holes, they suck sap and leave a mottled appearance or wilted leaves. You may have some caterpillars as well. To cover most options recommend Baythroid or Mavrik insecticide but would suggest take a sample in sealed container to nursery for confirmation of insect responsible.
