My beetroot grew well but are light pink and lack flavour. Can you tell me what the problem is please?

Answer: Hi Susan,

Thank you for contacting Yates. Depending on what variety you grew, beets can range in colour from deep red to pink to even orange. The lack of flavour can be due to a few things, including food and water. They should be fed and watered well during the growing season. The soil should be moist and well-draining – never wet, otherwise the roots will rot.

To get the best out of your crop next season, ensure you feed well with Yates Thrive Natural Vegie & Herb Organic Based Pelletised Plant Food.

Hope this helps!
