Joanne
How long do you leave sprouted seedlings in a small enclosed hot house, they are about 1cm?

The seeds are: parsley, sweet Williams, Carnations & Alyssum. Thank you Jo

Answer: Hi Joanne,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

You want to keep the seedlings in the greenhouse environment or at least a sheltered and well watered environment until they have at least 4 true leaves. This ensures that when they are moved they have enough energy to produce their own sugars and handle the stress as well.

When you do look at planting out, prepare your soil well with Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Plant Fertiliser. You will also need to look at slowly hardening out or moving your seedlings out of their sheltered environment to their new position to reduce stress.

After transplanting give the seedlings a hand to settle in to their new home with half strength Thrive Naturals Vegie & Herb Liquid Plant Food. This product contains seaweed to assist with transplant shock as well as a nutrients to ease them in to their new home.

Kind regards
