Prunus Plum not flowering

I used to prune it to keep it from getting too high. It is now 8-10years since I have pruned it & during all this time I have't got many flowers maybe half a dozen at most. I estimate the tree is around 50-55years old, foliage is wonderful. HELP PLEASE

Answer: Hi Cheryl, it could be that the tree is from a seedling rather than grafted so is genetically a poor flowerer. It could be that the rootstock has dominated the grafted upper part of the tree and it would not be a good flowerer either.
try regular applications of sulphate of potash starting with one now, along with your usual fertilising from early spring onwards.
