Palm Tree

I have a palm tree that appeared out of nowhere, I suspect from birds. I am not sure what sort it is, I have had a look online and the only one that comes close is the Chinese Fan Palm. It resembles a big fan. My question is, it is growing approxiamately 4meters from our septic. Is it too close or ok? I would like to leave it there but if I have to get it removed I have to do it soon before it gets too large. It's about 6meters tall. Thankyou. Gloria

Answer: Hi Gloria,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

Chinese Fan Palm is a slow growing tree which can reach 15 m in height, I would suggest plant the tree at least 6 m away from any water pipes or septic system.

Hope this helps and happy gardening.

Best Regards,
Louise
