Medium_received_283273969213765 Is this an Oleander?

This plant was intially a stump in our yard. With solid watering it is showing promise now. Is it an Oleander? Intent is to remove it if it is confirmed Oleander. We are turning the place into a rental.

Answer: Hi Benjamin,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We received a huge amount of queries over the Christmas break that we’re slowly working our way through. We appreciate your patience!

It does look suspiciously like an oleander, however it’s difficult to tell without a flower. If the sap is milky white (don’t get any on you) then it’s another sign that it could be an oleander.

If you would like to remove it, I suggest freshly cutting all the stems and trunk down to the ground and applying some Yates Zero Ultra Tough Heavy Duty Weed Killer onto the freshly cut surface. This will help kill the plant roots and all, so it doesn’t sprout again.

Thanks for getting in touch.

Kind regards,
Angie
