does ceanothus like being pruned? if so how much do I take off

Submitted: 12:06PM, 05 Sep 2016
Answer: Hello Jamie,

I wouldn’t recommend pruning more than a third off the plant at the one time, this species has been known to die off completely after severe pruning. This time of year should still be suitable for pruning in your area.

Also an excellent time for a one off feed with some Yates Dynamic Lifter Organic Plant Food. Longer term we recommend regular feeding with Thrive Roses & Flowers Liquid Plant Food.

All the very best with your ceanothus!

Kind regards,
