It seems like something is eating the leaves on my young mulberry trees. What might it be and how can I get rid of it?

Most of the leaves have huge holes in them. I looked on the leaves for bugs but I only found two very tiny black bugs on leaves that weren't even eaten very much.

Answer: Dear Emily.

If the leaves are chewed and have holes in them, it is likely to be caterpillars that is causing the damage. The product to use to control this pest is Success Insect Control or Nature’s Way Caterpillar Killer, Dipel. Both of these products are natural insecticides which work by both contact and ingestion. The insects will stop feeding immediately but may take up to 3 days to die.

These products are effective on a wide range of caterpillars and helps control insects that have become resistant to traditional chemicals.
