when to pick baby watermelons???

i planted a baby orange watermelon plant mid year in 2009 and it just started sprouting off 2 baby watermelons but on the tag it doesnt say when its ok to be picked. i just want to know how big they roughly have to be before picking them

Answer: Dear Ashlie,
Baby watermelons usually take about 12 weeks from planting to mature. You can harvest the melons when the underside (the part in contact with the soil) turns yellow and the fruit gives a dull, hollow sound when tapped.
